Our Take on the Volvo S40 Have you ever seen a movie and a day later can't remember what it was about? Larger families won't fit. I definitely recommend this car for students or just a great commuter vehicle f It has yellow steal, which makes it a very safe car to drive. I has a c30 before this one and both are amazing to own.

    Volvo S40 - User Reviews - CarGurus

Volvo S40 T5 Review — loved this car. Very reliable and enjoyable to own. Good gas mileage for class. Great amenities, leather, wood paneling, sunroof, seat warmers, etc. Small enough to fit tight parking spaces and large enough to not feel like you would be crushed like an aluminum can if you were ever be involved in an accident. Great Car — For a borderline compact car, it feels wonderfully spacious on the inside.

The back seat can comfortable fit two tall persons, and the front seats have plenty of room to spare. Trunk is large as well, and can carry far more cargo than you think it should. Acceleration is a little timid, but all in all a very fun car to drive, it handles very well on dry or wet pavement, ice or snow. I have had a great experience with this car, and would highly recommend Volvo to anyone looking for a new car. Very spacious, with lots of cargo room. Backseat is comfortable regardless of height.

Handling is great, this car is a lot of fun to drive. Fuel economy is average, no aftermarket stereo options. Volvo parts can be expensive. Would liek it better if it was bigger.

Larger families won't fit. Nice little car for the right price, as I mentioned above my wife can't drive in the snow, she was able to get the kids around town without any problems. I can drive anything in the snow but this was like I had 4 wheel drive. Great car, first car my wife was able to drive in the snow without crashing!! Great Car All Around! I got so many complements on it!! It was very comfortable. Gas mileage was good. The oil pan is made of aluminum so it cracked very easily.

Maintenance and parts were not cheap! On the other hand, I felt very safe and this car is a blast to drive!

I abosolutely love my car!! I bought it used for a great price and it hasn't deprieciated much! It was my first car and was very reliable! The finish on the bumper chipped off. Also the parts and maintenaince for this car was very expensive. Great Ride — Love this car. Looks good rides great and remote is awesome. Volvo's Winter transmission mode makes it easy to drive in wet or snowy weather.

Car is very fun to drive with the sunroof open. Car gets great gas mileage 25 - 30 mpg. It's fun to drive smooth the gas isn't to touchy but can be. Reason to drive because it is a fun and reliable car.

Solid Fun Ride — Probably a volvo classic someday. Really fun to drive and great handling and ride. It isn't a high performance car but it def feels like it. Car is solid and reliable. Yep it's a volvo! It has nice aerodynamics.. It takes it's styling cues from it's larger brothers, the S60 and S80 while setting new standards for Volvo design in other areas. The performance is excellent with a full range of fabulous engines available from the frugal 1.

Volvo have also refined the software for the automatic gearbox control so it's function has been vastly improved. It is not the most frugal vehicle in the world and the smaller diesels do need a new particle filter every 80k miles or so which does cost a few pennies.
