It is interesting! Few people know, but Lamborghini not only produces premium-class cars. The company also produces computers, perfumes and even women's shoes.

If so, anyone with an orange Gallardo want to trade for a red Nissan R35 GTR that runs consistent, reliable high 10s at mph in the 1/4 mile.

Registered Users do not see the above ads. I've had my GTR for 3 years now. The car has been a pleasure to own fast and reliable but I'm starting to get bored of it. My biggest concern of the Gallardo is maintenance cost. Does the clutch really go out every few thousand miles or few hard launches? What other issues if any should I be concerned with? I would like to own a Gallardo for a few years, put about 10k to 15k miles on it while own, yet not want to pay for any major maintenance problems.

There's no comparison in terms of pure driving pleasure.

With the GT-R you have a car that does everything for you that makes the car feel souless and evokes no emotion. It makes a novice driver seem significantly more skilled because the car seems to drive you with all the technology. You could realistically drive the GT-R everyday and it would be very livable. With the Lambo, there's nothing that's not exotic, from the sound, to the lowness of the car to the sheer attention it garners. It's got the perfect balance of rawness that a super car needs to be over the top and exciting, all while still being very refined.

The fit and finish compared to the Nissan is not even close. Lambo spares no expense, as one should expect for the price of the car, making sure everything is covered in high end materials and fits perfect. In your time of ownership you could get lucky and have few issues or run into something. With regards to your clutch comment, definitely inaccurate, they are quite reliable cars if maintained properly.

It depends on how the car was driven, there are lots of best practices that you can search on the forum that prevent clutch wear and will extend the life. Try to go with an 06 or newer if possible, again, search the forum and your learn why. You won't regret the G, it will put the biggest smile on your face. Also own both cars. Stock to stock, the Gallardo is slower than the GTR. But the Gallardo puts a bigger smile on my face and gets a whole lot more attention than the GTR. Had a 08 R35 and traded it for my 08 SL.

The Gallardo is slow, has terrible brake pedal feel for the road and you need to know how to use the egear properly to not eat through a clutch in an inclined hill. Nothing is better for the drive, power or practicality. And handling wise no difference at all on the street compared to the SL. If anyone can tell the difference between the two cars handling on the street, they should be getting more track time to stop themselves from potentially killing themselves on the roads. BUT the difference is that the Lambo is an absolute event to drive and is an attention grabbing whore if that is what you want.

Just don't race any GTRs, unless it's over a fair few laps at the track, at which time the GTR fluids will be overheating, tires will have been tortured from the weight, brakes would be fading bad and the Gallardo will show it a clean rear end And the light weight comparably starts to show a better car Though the G in stock form still understeers like a soft sedan and the brakes will fade big time Just not as badly as the behemoth that the GTR is on a tight track.

Maintenance wise, the GTR is just as bad with its diabolically fragile gearbox, ridiculous maintenance schedule and cost of consumables. You find the right Gallardo and it will run comparable to a GTR cost wise. I say live the dream If you can afford a GTRs running costs, a well maintained G should not present any nasty surprises.
